The name "Krasnya Iskra" can be translated as "The Red Spark". Unlike so many newspapers in Russia, Krasnaya Iskra has always been published under this name since its first appearance on 5 April 1919.
Today Krasnaya Iskra is printed in the tabloid format with 12 pages in each issue. Its circulation amounts to 37050 copies. Since January 2003 it is also published on the Internet: www.borovichi.net.ru. The editor-in-chief is Vladimir Krasnov.
